Sometimes, the most exciting travel adventure is finding a bargain air fare to the destination you want to visit. Several airlines are offering great deals this month on a variety of destinations, and the best ones allow travel from now through autumn.
Here are some of the discounts available right now:
United Airlines has put Mexico on sale, though August 31. Sample fares include $206 each way between Chicago and Los Cabos, and $119 between Los Angeles and Mexico City.
Air Tahiti Nui has six package deals, including non-stop flights from New York's JFK and from Los Angeles' LAX to Papeete, Tahiti, for travel through June 20 and again in August.. There are packages for Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora, and packages for more than one island. Prices start at $1,669 per person, double occupancy. For more information, click here.
Each of these islands is different. Tahiti is the largest of the string of islands whose official name is French Polynesia, but just about everybody calls it Tahiti. There's lots of great shopping in the capital city of Papeete for local handicrafts and the dark and luminous pearls that have become synonymous with Tahiti. Bora Bora is glamorous one, its fabulous and famous turquoise lagoon ringed with some of the most upscale resorts in the island nation. Moorea is the wild child, the least developed of the three. All have magnificent beaches, thick rainforests, and lots of opportunities for fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Southwest Airlines begins flying to San Francisco in August, and to celebrate it's newest city, the airline is offering special discounts to and from SFO, Oakland and San Jose. There are 21-day advance fares as low as $39 one-way to San Diego, $59 one-way to Las Vegas, and $99 one-way to Chicago Midway.
